CSI College of Education Pasumalai has its root in modern educational system which was introduced in India by the American Madura Missionaries 150 years ago from the year 1840.  CSI College of Education Pasumalai is a unit managed and run by the Diocese of Madurai-Ramnad.  Rt. Rev. Dr. M. JOSEPH the Bishop of Madurai – Ramnad being the Chairman of the College he is shouldering 183 institutions acroos 6 revenue districts in South TamilNadu.  Under the Bishop Chairmanship the CSI Madurai – Ramnad management monitors the following Colleges.

The Diocesan management also having 2 teacher training institutes and a school of nursing and one trade school, 138 primary schools, 12 Higher Secondary Schools through these institutions the Diocese imparting education in the lives of 45000 students every year.  Since 2006 the CSI College of Education Pasumalai has produced 700 graduate teachers with professionally high standards to match the changing trends in education as 21st century teacher educators.  Recently CSI College of Education for its meticulous graduate teacher training intervention got a land mark recognition and accredited by NAAC and positioned in ‘B’ Grade.

The Institution has lofty ideals and goals basically of ideological and pragmatic nature. Educating in Christian values and for social commitments will be equitably allocated and addressed comprehensively

Our library is connected with national television network.  For teaching practice CCTV is available to students.  Library computers are connected with web sources.  The College library is automated by using Bar Code system with National Informatics Centre installed computer software.  More than 10000 volumes of books available in the library.
IGNOU has recognized the college resources and library materials as the matter hence considered CSI College of Education Pasumalai as a Research Centre of higher learning of excellence.
On Special Education, Educational Research and Educational Technology projects are the other dimensions of our special interest.
In our library, rare books are available (Lenin’s selected work vol-I, II, books of Bave Deeds, the practical senior Teacher,  Holy Bible (1845) Bible (1867) Holy Bible (1957) are the preserved treasures.
